Top Five Horror movies to Date

A lot of people ask me why I like H. P. Lovecraft so much. Well, it wasn’t until I put together the top five favorites in 80’s horror cinema that that truth comes to life. Three of the five films are movies inspired by or based on stories by the great late. These are my top Five Favorite 80’s horror films. What are yours?

5 – Evil Dead

I am always open to hear what other people think about 80’s horror, and maybe they have a special little gem I overlooked, but need to check out.

  1. It’s not a deathless gem of immortal art, but “The Resurrected” is a pretty darned good adaptation of “The Case of Charles Dexter Ward”. It occasionally surfaces as “Shatterbrain”, too, but don’t let that put you off; it’s certainly on par with “From Beyond” in adaptations of HPL for the screen.

My personal pinnacle of ’80s horror is “The Thing”, but this is all very subjective.
