patch adventure: week 1 comes to a close

week1

It is official. Week one has come and gone with For the Win Inc.. Today marks day 7 of my patch venture operation. As quickly as the first week has gone by, it has been an exciting ride. At first I wasn’t really all that sure how my patches would do in a sea of online retailers essentially doing the same thing as myself. But, it managed to go better than expected. At first I had no expectations to be honest. And from what I have been told by other online Etsy stores, the very first sale could take weeks to happen. Well, I was luck on that front and within two days had already made about five sales. With that, I decided to set a goal for myself. I wanted to reach ten sales within the first week of being open. I don’t know what it amounted to, honestly. Good photos. Good product. Self promotion. Social media help. Any one of those things… or all of them. Who knows? What I do know is that I actually exceeded my self made goal and managed to make 12 sales in total before the 7 days was up. And here I am posting this a little after 4pm. For all I know I could make a few more before the day is done. Of all the sales I made this week, I knew a few of the people. But not many. Had some go to Canada and Germany. Even had some go to places like New York and Washington. Even had one go right down the road somewhere here in Austin. I thought that was cool. Small world. Maybe I will spot them wearing it in the grocery line or something.

Anyway, I just wanted to post this to let everyone know that my patches have been well received so far. I don’t know that I will keep up the momentum in the coming weeks, but what I do know is that I have several new designs in the works and I can’t wait to release them and get some feedback. Hopefully this time next month For the Win Inc. will have something new for you to see!
