The first five months of patch operations has come and gone with the quickness. For the Win Inc got started in the second or third week of August making the month of December its 5th month of operations. Obviously there is part of me that wishes it had done better in its infant stage, but the other part of me is totally blown away by the response it has gotten. I would have never guessed it to have done as well as it has. Today, to make the New Year and the turn of a “new leaf” if you will, I reworked the store header to better suit the look and feel that I have grown to like recently. My eye has been drawn to more shades of gray lately (no, not the terrible pop culture porno- book). I have spent the last few months filling the store with patches that I would wear (quite a few of which I actually do wear). With that said, this patch venture has been a fun little hobby that has allowed me to express myself creatively. I like anti-fascist punk rock patches with gritty quotes. I like UFOs, outer space and bigfoot. I like dinosaurs and Jesus Christ. So, these patches are inspired from the things that inspire me. That is where I have been with it thus far.
But what about 2017? What does this new year hold in store for For the Win Inc.? Honestly, I have no idea. I can tell you though, what the short term looks like for this patch venture. I have three new embroidery designs coming down the pike soon. I hope to have them posted to the store by early February at the latest. One is of outer space, another is a triceratops, and the other is a… well, you will just have to wait to see them. I am pretty happy with how they turned out. With that said, in the first six months I will came come close to nearly 1,000 sales, nearly 200 reviews, and a total of 35 different patches in the store. That is pretty freaking awesome if you ask me. Beyond adding these three new designs to the store I have decided to take the first few months of 2017 a little slower than I have been. This means I won’t be rushing off to release new designs. Instead, I am going to sit tight and focus on promoting what designs I already have. Where things will lead beyond this are hard to say. I could do more patches. I could start doing enamel pins and buttons. Who knows? That’s been the exciting thing about this little venture hobby. Anything could happen.
It’s been a fun ride thus far.
